The Skillforests community · free · open to anyone, anywhere

See what your profession is made of, and grow on your own terms.

See which skills your job actually needs, what to learn next, and what separates a junior from an expert — whether you’re catching up as AI raises the bar, teaching yourself with nobody to ask, or starting a new career from scratch. It comes from the people who do the work: we get them in a room and write down everything the job takes, then publish it free for anyone, anywhere. One profession at a time.

Nothing to buy. Everything that comes out of a workshop stays public.

100 public blueprints by the end of 2028.

Each one a profession described by the people who practise it, free for anyone to use. The number exists because of who is waiting on it: the people rebuilding a career, and the ones teaching themselves with nobody to ask. Here is where the count stands today.

Bring your profession into the open.

If you can gather people who share a role, we bring the method and the facilitation. Pick what describes your organisation:

Professional associations & guilds

Your profession, described on your own terms.

You already hold your field’s identity — its standards, its titles, its idea of what competence looks like. A workshop turns that into something concrete: the skills of the role, what roots what, and what each level of seniority actually requires, decided by your own members rather than an outside authority.

Members bring the expertise. We bring the method, two facilitators and the published result.

HR & recruiting agencies

Firsthand insight into the industries you place people in.

Spend a day inside the work you hire for, with the practitioners doing it. You come away able to read a candidate against what the job really takes — and the workshop itself is an activity worth inviting your candidates and clients to.

Free to host; the result is public, so your candidates can use it too.

NGOs working on employment, retraining and career mobility

Something concrete to hand the people you already serve.

For someone crossing into a field, or across one, a Skillforest answers the question a course list never does: what does this job consist of, and where would I start? Running a workshop with local practitioners produces exactly that, for the professions your people are heading into.

Free for organisations running free public events — you provide the venue, we run the day.

You practise the work

Join a workshop as a contributor and put your experience into the Skillforest for your role. You spend a few hours with people who do the same job, hear how they see the skills, and leave with a sharper read on where your field is heading.

Ask the people who do the work.

Our Discord is where the work between workshops happens: practitioners argue about what a skill really means, people heading into a field ask what to learn first, and hosts plan the next workshop out loud. Drop in with a question about your own profession, or read along.
